Lynx is a full-featured text-mode WWW browser. Lynx 2.7.1 does not replace Lynx/2; the two are substantially different programs. Lynx/2 is based on an older version of Lynx (2.4.1), but has a significant body of added features relative to mainstream Lynx 2.4.1, including table support, some frames support, user-defined colors, and support for Java applets. I ported Lynx 2.7.1 to OS/2 largely because of the divergence between 'mainstream' Lynx development and Lynx/2. Hardcore OS/2 Lynxers will want to have both programs. Lynx 2.7.1 also has lots of new configurable options relating to such things as HTML comment handling and how inline images are displayed.
