Virago is a Royal Knight of Arktos City, capital of Arktos, a country of (mostly–they’re not going to kick anyone out!) women loving women on the world of Agrotera. She has piercing, icy blue eyes, wears a wolf tail in her hair (it’s from a cannibal werewolf) and wields her beloved sword (named, appropriately, Wolfslayer) with the grace of a dancer. She’s funny, charming and generous, but she can be a little too chivalrous and overprotective. She grew up in the poorest section of Arktos City, known as Ratter Prison (not a fun place to live!), and her parents died when she was a kid.
Her mother had wanted to be a knight, but became a storyteller instead. In her honor Virago became a knight (who really likes telling stories around a fire). She’s incredibly good with animals, really likes coffee (now that Holly has introduced her to it) and is a voracious reader (her favorite book would probably be a lesbian romance novel–she’s a true romantic at heart!). — Holly is a librarian who wants the type of romance that will sweep her off her feet–unfortunately, she has terrible luck in finding the right lady. She’s had a string of bad relationships and is considering settling for the wrong womanuntil a gorgeous lady knight appears in her backyardwielding a sword.
Holly is a complete romantic and always has her nose stuck in a book, with a freshly brewed coffee close at hand. She loves her dog Shelley (a Collie mix) to the moon and back, and is obsessed with Renaissance festivals (she’s kind of a nerd), collects unicorn figurines and has a “to be read” pile of books in her bedroom that could kill her if it collapsed. Her brother, Aidan, is a witch and runs the local Pagan shop, and her (slightly quirky, slightly crazy) best friend Carly is a producer at the local public access television station. Holly’s mother died after a hard, prolonged battle with cancer, and Holly stopped being brave (and truly living) the day her mother died.
But when Holly meets Virago, her heart starts to open again. — The rest of the bios are coming soon! TOTALLY AGREE! You got back to me! Thanks for acknowledging! I never knew that about how the cover photos were obtained. The way you write your characters, it seemed like you chose the perfect model to feature on the cover.
Do you already have the character’s appearance in mind beforehand or do you write about the character’s appearance after purchasing the photo? Either way, great job and great choice on the pics!
