Roxio has unveiled its newest version of its CD and DVD burning software for the Mac,. It's on display at this week's Macworld Expo in booth 2238. Pricing starts at $99. Toast 10 Titanium enables you to burn CDs and DVDs, and using an optional plug-in, it also supports Blu-ray Disc and HD-DVD, if you have a Mac equipped with third-party drive. The software features the ability to burn music, video, photo and data files, and also features video conversion options for exporting to portable devices like the iPhone. You can copy non-protected DVD discs and compress video from a Dual-Layer DVD to fit on a Single-Layer 4.3GB disc. New in this version is the ability to extract clips from DVD-Video discs and convert them to the format of your choice.

The software also lets you save video from the Web to watch later on the TV or on your portable device. Video clips can be extracted from DVD's and ripped VIDEOTS folders; you can select multiple clips on a timeline and create your own video compilation. Camcorder footage shot in AVCHD format can be archived to disc-the software stores HD video in its native format, so you can later import pristine video content to iMovie or Toast. Internet audio streams can now be captured automatically and tagged. Audiobook CDs can be converted to play back on the iPod. The previous release of Toast Titanium featured integration with TiVo DVRs, but the new version improves that with the ability to transfer video from your Mac to a TiVo DVR, so you can watch video on a TV or entertainment center. Toast 10 Titanium is also now equipped with 20 new DVD and Blu-ray Disc menu styles, so you can create your own discs with custom interfaces.
And folders containing video and data can be synced bidirectionally, between multiple computers, folders, or external storage devices. And Streamer, software that lets you stream archived video on your home computer to a remote Mac, has been updated for the iPhone-Roxio will soon release a native Streamer app for the iPhone, so you can watch archived video clips over Wi-Fi or 3G using an iPhone or iPod touch. Toast 10 Titanium's developers have cleaned up the interface to provide easier access to commonly used features. The built-in media browser, which lets you look at videos, pictures and music you've archived on your Mac, now provides you with more data to make it easier to find the exact clip or data you're looking for. This year Roxio is also introducing Toast 10 Titanium Pro, an advanced version that bundles Toast 10 Titanium with the HD/BD Plug-in; SoundSoap, which lets you reduce audio noise from videos and music; Sonicfire, a music soundtrack creation software tool; FotoMagico, designed to produce HD still image slideshows; and LightZone, a photo editing and effects package. System requirements call for a G4 or better (including Intel), 512MB RAM, Mac OS X 10.5 or later, and 800MB free hard disk space. $99 gets you the regular Toast 10 Titanium package.
